This is Kenah's first year dancing at the Pointe. I love it that her dance is right up the street! Her and Anja would ride their bikes together to dance before it got too cold. Fourth of July just wasn't the same this year without Grandma Doris:( She absolutely loved parades! This was the Wright's first year in Utah. It was fun to be able to take them to the parade! Thanks for saving us seats Grandpa!

It was Tyler's great idea to go "Crawdad Fishing". The kids had an absolute blast doing it!

To crawdad fish, we took some raw chicken, put it down on the bottom, waited for them to crawl onto the chicken, then pulled them up. It was awesome! It entertained the kids for hours. Not to mention the adults! Way to go Tyler for thinking of this. We boiled them and ate them too. They taste just like lobster. Yummy!!

Bear World

Bear World was a lot of fun. We drove through in our cars. They told us not to stop but to keep going. Well, a lady in an orange car decided she was going to stop to get a better look at the bear. The bear started climbing on her car and broke off her side mirror. The kids thought that was so funny to watch! While here we rode rides and saw lots of animals. My personal favorite of course were the baby bears:) ahhhhhh

If you look close in the picture on the right there is a black bear just hanging out by the waterfall. It was so cool to see a bear in the wild like that!

It was lots of fun to go on vacation with Aubrey! She always adds lots of excitement! We love you Aubrey.

Coming to Yellowstone was so much fun! We went to Old Faithful and saw it go off. It was so neat. A week after we got back they said that lightning struck here so I'm so glad we went the week we did.

We went to Yellowstone during Memorial day. As soon as we got up there we pulled over and we noticed something coming out of a buffalo.It was giving birth. It took about an hour. We were able to watch the whole thing. Amazing!! Sooo cute!! It got up right away and starting walking all over. It snowed a lot while we were here. It was so fun!!

Moab April 2010-Spring Break

We had so much fun in Moab. This is the first time for our family to travel here. We had so much fun hiking and seeing the beauty that Utah has to offer. We stayed at a Marriott about 2 hours away. On April 5, 2010, we hiked to delicate arch. As we hiked we saw markers all along the way. They were little rocks piled up on each other so we knew which way to go. On Monday we hiked to the most famous arch, the Delicate Arch. It was a little scary to go all the way up to the arch because it had a hole to the right that you had to dodge. On Tuesday we hiked to Landscape Arch, Pine Tree Arch, Tunnel Arch, Sand Dune Arch, and Broken Arch. What a way to spend Spring Break!!

Grandma We Miss You

My mom passed away on January 19th while on vacation. It was a shock to all of us to say the least. Mom never missed any family event. This past weekend Connor was ordained a Priest and it just wasn't the same without her with us. Thought I would post some of our favorite pictures of her with the kids. It is so hard to put in writing all my feelings and thoughts. She was an amazing woman and even greater mom.

Our family on Kenah's special day. It was so fun to see how excited Kenah was. I can't believe that my baby was just baptized! Wow do the years fly by:( I wish I could slow it down just a little! We had lots of family and friends come and share this special day with us. We are so blessed. Yeah, Jace was able to make his championship playoff football game right after Kenah's baptism. Too bad they lost! It was lots of fun anyways. After the baptism we all went over to James and Lori's house for a delicious lunch. We had soup and salads. Delicious! Kenah said,

" This is the best day ever! First I got baptized and then I get to go trick or treating."

Alynn is so funny because she still wants to dress up for Halloween. Poor little Jace wasn't feeling very good. He only went to a few houses and then he came back home. Poor little guy! Kenah thought it would be fun to dress up tater this year.

Kenah's teachers really know how to dress up for Halloween! Mrs. Welcker is Kenah's first grade teacher and she is the witch on the left. It was so funny because she wouldn't talk and I couldn't figure out who she was. Kenah's second grade teacher is Mrs. Luck and I'm not sure what she is. An evil witch I guess.

Our HIKE to the "Y"

We decided to hike up to the "Y" after Jace's soccer game one day. It's not very often that we get to do things like this because we are sooo busy!! Jace missed the hike for scouts and he needed to get a hike in so we went to the "Y". It was a tough hike, but we made it! The trail is nice going up. Jace found a stick that looked just like a "Y". He thought that was so cool! After our hike we went to Brick Oven for dinner, we love that place! Then we went and drove around Utah Lake. We drove by Krispie Kream donuts and the HOT donuts sign was on, so we couldn't pass that one up so we of course went in got some hot donuts and brought a dozen home. YUM YUM!! What a fun fun day!

We got a sneak peak into Coach Mendenhall's office.

Coach Brandon Doman took time out of his busy day to speak with Jace's football team. He shared some great lessons with the kids and encouraged them to dream big. One of his quotes was, "If your mind can conceive it and your heart can believe it, then you will achieve it." He then shared how his grandpa always lived by this motto and encouraged Brandon to set high goals.

Sorenson Champions Challenge @ Thanksgiving Point

Jace and Dad went to Thanksgiving Point Golf Course to watch this year's Sorenson Champions Challenge. Johnny Miller, Billy Casper, Ian Baker-Fitch, Rocco Mediate, Mike Weir, Hale Irwin and others played in a best ball format tournament just down the street from us.
Kyle Korver and Deron Willams of the Utah Jazz also played. Jace and Dad followed them for nine holes. DWill joked with Jace and asked him if he had a Tony Parker jersey on underneath his sweatshirt. Jace said, "No way." DWill also threw Jace a golf ball after his round. Pretty cool. It was a lot of fun hanging out and watching them play. Korver hits it a mile and DWill plays like Dad, all over the course.

Jace walked right up to Mike Weir before he teed off on hole number nine.

This was perfect! The exact amount of cars for all the kids to ride in one all by themselves. They had grins from ear to ear. So cute!

The Hayride

We had so much fun taking the kids to Hee Haws. We had a Monday off of school so we decided to go here. I thought it would be packed, but we practically had the place to ourselves. So FUN! Lori Ellsworth and her family went, Mikel and Myles went, and my mom went. This is such a cute place to take younger kids. So much to do. They had swings that looked like horses, corn guns, slides, rides, a haunted blow up, little go carts to ride, the corn box, animals, hayride, etc. Thanks guys for such a fun day!

BYU verses Utah State, Friday, October 2, 2009

This is one of the only games that me and Kenah get to go to so we took full advantage. Grandma and Grandpa Pierson went with us and we went to Brick Oven before the game. That is always so much fun. We love it there! They have the most amazing homemade noodles ever! It's definitely something a lot of people do before the game. It was packed. It was perfect football weather! Grandma and Grandpa loved sitting by Jace. Their tickets were a few rows up from ours. They said that everyone around them were cracking up at Jace. He really gets into the games.

The Anual Pumpkin Walk

We always look forward to the Pumpkin Walk. It is so much fun to walk around and see all the different pumpkins. It is all about building character. I think it teaches the kids so much. It is also a great fundraiser. They sale donuts, hot chocolate, popcorn, etc. This year Kenah's pumpkin was a chipmunk and Jace's was a construction guy. His is the one with the glasses. This year we went twice. Once with Grandma Lisonbee and once with Grandma Doris and Grandpa Jud. We love to go at night when all the lights are on.

THE MILEY CYRUS CONCERT

We had tickets on the 8th row. There wasn't anyone sitting in front of us. We were also watching Miley's mom because she was right down below us. That was kinda fun.

Before the concert we text in a comment to Miley Cyrus and it appeared on this huge screen so everyone there could see it. Pretty exciting!

Kenah got the Miley Cyrus Concert tickets for her birthday. We were so excited to go. Poor Brian had to stay home because we could only buy 4 tickets. She had the flu and ran off stage for about 20 min. She came back and performed GREAT!

Kenah's 8th Birthday

Kenah had her 8th birthday--finally. She has waited so long for this BIG day! She got tickets to go see Miley Cyrus, and she got a pink electric scooter. She wanted one so bad. This year Kenah just wanted to have ice cream sundae's. It was fun and she was able to put whatever she wanted on top. She now rides that scooter all over the neighborhood. She tries to ride it before homework is done, which is a big NO NO. I can't believe my baby is 8 years old:(

Kenah's soccer team is called the Purple Socker Rockers. She really got into soccer this year. This is the first year not playing with boys. Kenah's team did really well. They won every game they played. We are so proud of you Kenah!

Jace is number 6. I can't believe it's that time of year again! Jace is really loving football this year. It was so fun to watch his first game. He ran it 70 yards for a touch down.

Teenagers!! Alynn didn't want me to take a picture of her at school, so I just rolled down the window of the car as she was getting out and got one!! HaHa

Kenah is going into 2nd grade and Jace is going into 6th. Where does the time go? We love Jace's shoes this year. He wanted futsal shoes and they are definitely bright! You have to be a huge soccer fan to enjoy these bad boys. Well, some of you might be saying, "where did Kenah's hair go?" Well, she decided to donate it to "locks of Love". After three haircuts by her older sister Janae, this is what our little darling looks like. Kenah loves it!! She is so glad that she has no more snarals.(?)

Connor- 10th grade and first year in High School! He also is an official driver. He got his driving permit last Friday. He is a good little driver.

Girls Camp 2009

Girls camp was so much fun!!! I was the camp director and our theme was "Believe in Yourself". We went to a cabin up in Victor Idaho. It was the most gorgeous cabin I have ever seen! There was a bed for all of the leaders and the girls slept down stairs in the family room. We made washer necklaces that said believe on them. We also made stepping stones. We went to Jenny Lake for a 6 mile hike. We hiked up to hidden falls which was amazing! We saw a lot of moose at camp too. We also took a river float and saw bald eagles. The girls and leaders were so great!! I can't wait to go again next year!!

Camping Trip to Mayfield Canyon

All of the family decided to go up Mayfield Canyon for a camping trip. It was so much fun. We rode four-wheelers, rode the Rhino, went fishing, shot BB guns, the kids had a water fight, sat around the camp fire, played games, sang songs, rode bikes, shot bow and arrows, and our favorite part was eating our delicious fish we caught. We were all fighting over it. It was so delicious!!

Lavender Field in Mona

This is such a beautiful sight!! When you drive down the I-15 going South, there is a gorgeous lavender field in Mona. Nothing but lavender. It is so pretty. The Ellsworth's invited us to go take some pictures in the field. It was so much fun. Afterwards we went to the Red Barn and had yummy ice cream! Thanks for the fun day.

Our trip to California for America's funniest videos

Our trip to California was so fun. We were there for three days the first time. We loved it because they gave us $1000.00 just for food. Needless to say, we were able to buy a new lawn mower which the kids get to use( a lot I might add). One day Jace said, I'm going to go mow the front lawn. He was a little trooper. It was so cute watching him mow that huge front lawn with a push mower. We stayed at the Marriott in Manhattan Beach. When we got to the studio, they took us to make up. Of course Kenah wanted some of that. The ladies were so nice and put some on her too. She was in heaven. The kids thought it was really funny when dad got some make up too. We walked into the studio after the show had already started and they sat us in the back row. It was freezing in the studio. Tom likes it really cold! After the audience voted, they moved us down to the front row. We were so excited when they called our video as the winner!!! We couldn't believe that we won $10,000. This was something that we will never forget!! We really had a good time. The second trip to California, we only stayed part of Sat. and they filmed the show on Sunday, then we left to go home. They still gave us $1000.00 for food for two days. We couldn't believe it. This trip was also very fun. There were 7 videos competing for the $100,000.00. Even though we didn't win, it was still very neat to be able to go again. Tom signed Kenah's cast. Kenah thought that was so cool. At the airport on the way home we saw Shawn White. The kids thought that was really cool. I guess he skateboards as well as snow boards. He was carrying his skateboard onto the plane. Wow what a fun time!

Jace's 5th grade basketball team- The Flash

Jace has so much fun on his basketball team. They just got done with their spring season and they won first place! They had to play a really tough team called the Rage. Jace's team ended up winning by 20 points. Way to go Jace. Jace also had basketball camp last week and he had so much fun! On the last day they had contests and he won speed out of everyone at the camp and also, he won MR. HUSTLE! That is kind of like MVP of the whole camp. The high school basketball team got together and they all picked Jace for his hustle the whole week at camp, his unselfishness, teamwork, etc. We are so proud of you Jace!! Way to go!!

Janae looked so beautiful at her bridals. Her wedding was such a special day! It was so funny, because a few things did happen that day, but Janae and Tyler didn't let it get them down. First of all, Janae of course was running really late. On the way into the temple we dropped her sash into a puddle, and her veil. It was pouring down rain. Luckily her veil was in some plastic! During her pictures, it was raining so hard! Janae and Tyler were glad it was raining because they thought their pictures would be unique. They were standing out in the pouring rain taking pictures and their video. Their video turned out awesome!! The rain really did add to it. The guy that did it was absolutely amazing!! What a special day.

Thanks to this dog, Jace, and Alynn, we are leaving on a plane next Tuesday to go to L.A. to be on American Funniest Home Videos. Alynn decided one day that she would video Jace going over the fence to get the basketball that went into our neighbors yard. Connor submitted it to AFV and the next thing we know we are going to L.A. Jace is most excited about the food he gets to eat since we don't have to pay! We are so excited! The show will be aired on May 3rd for anyone that wants to watch it. Cross your fingers that we win first place!

Draper Temple Open House

Today we visited the Draper Temple Open House. The kids were out of school and Brian took the day off so we could tour the new temple. On our way, Jace asked, "are we going to get there in time for the ribbon cutting?" I thought that was so cute. We rode a bus to the temple and Jace asked if he could trade his school bus for the one we rode. It even had TVs in it.

The temple is beautiful inside. We saw all the rooms, including our family favorite the Celestial Room. The crystal chandelier in the Celestial Room is amazing. Kenah wants one like it in our house. The crystal alone weighs 800 pounds. Jace and Kenah also loved the baptismal font and can't wait until they get to go do baptisms for the dead.

The family can't wait to tour the other new temple being built in South Jordan later this year.

Alynn and her team from American Fork were in action this past Saturday where they took it to the Rage by 17 points. The team played amazing defense, limiting their opponents to no baskets in the second half. Alynn played great, getting several steals and rebounds to go with her four points. Way to go MJ. Kenah was one lucky girl this birthday. She got to have three birthday parties. A little girls dream! Brian was out of town for her real birthday so me and the kids made her a cake really quick and let her decorate it. Of course it is pink her favorite color. Grandma Lisonbee was so nice to make Kenah her very own elephant cake. She used to make cakes like this for me when I was Kenah's age. I loved them. She is so awesome and does such a great job. Thanks mom! I also made Kenah some monkey cakes for her friend party. Connor and Alynn helped with this party and it made it so nice. Alynn entertained all the little ones while we did freeze dance. So fun. They played duck, duck, goose, and pop the balloon too. They all had a really fun time. You are growing up so fast Kenah I can't believe it!

The only thing Kenah wanted for her 7th birthday was a turtle. She loves animals so much. We are afraid of what she might want next. She is always talking about getting a horse, but for now she will have to settle for her little play one. She was so excited when Grandma Doris brought the turtle over!! This turtle is so easy to take care of. We LOVE it! Kenah named her snappy. She loves to get it out of her cage and let it walk all over. It's so cute to see her crawl around. We think this thing is going to stay alive for quite sometime, so we think Kenah, you might have to take it to college with you. Have fun!!

This was Jace's first year playing football on a team. He loves to play in the yard with his buddies, but this year we put him on a team. He was in heaven!! He loved every minute of it! His poor little team didn't do so great, but I'm sure they will get better. Unfortunately for mom, he wants to play again next year.

This is Alynn's basketball team. They are such cute girls and they have so much fun together! They practice three times a week, go to the ninth grade girls games twice a week and her games are on Saturdays. She is a busy little girl. Alynn's absolute favorite sport is basketball!!

BYU Basketball

We had so much fun at the BYU game!! Jace brought his friend Cameron. We got free parking, free dinner, free treats, free half time snacks, etc... The boys were in heaven! Our seats were great. Right on the floor. Wow, we were so close Cosmo was giving us high fives. Cameron knew one of the players, so after the game the boys went into the locker room to meet the players. They had their hats signed, took pictures with them and joked with them a bit. If you were to pick the perfect night, these boys would pick this one! Brian and I had a great time also, mostly when watching these cute kids.

State AAU Tournament - Christmas 2008

Jace was in the State Basketball AAU Tournament over Christmas break. They played some really tough teams. Some games very stressful at times. They pulled it off. They ended up winning the whole thing!! It was so fun. We were wondering if Thurl Bailey would say something on the Jazz post game report and guess what? He did. It was fun hearing him mention the team on TV.
